“You planned evil against me; God planned it for good to bring about the present result — the survival of many people."
Genesis 50:20
Joseph’s words to his brothers, after their father Jacob was dead and they expected revenge for the evil they had done to him, demonstrate Joseph’s great faith in the Lord and his ability to trust the providence of God even in the horrible adversity he had faced. He is rejected by his own brothers, sold for twenty pieces of silver, persecuted, tempted, and falsely accused, but he never loses sight of or trust in the Lord God. God chooses and uses Joseph to save and reconcile His people. It also is a foreshadowing of what we see in Jesus the Christ, who trusted unto death the will and providence of the Father, to save His people. We are looking forward to studying this section of scripture in Genesis 37 through Genesis 47 over 8-Weeks of our Sunday Night Study, starting March 23 and going through May 18.
