Kevin Mayer PASTOR
Kevin's path into ministry has been one of serving as a lay volunteer, moving into church leadership, and then being asked to join church staff. This pattern has been repeated at 4 different churches. At every church he's attended, Kevin has found ways to use his gifts of teaching and mercy to minister to others. His career path has run the gamut of working in corporate America, for non-profits, and in ministry. His Bachelor of Arts degree is in Speech Communications and his Master of Arts is in Broadcasting and Film. Kevin and his wife Pat have been married since 1984 and have traveled together to Quebec, western Europe, and Haiti on ministry-related trips. Kevin enjoys movies, reading, learning, traveling, writing, barren wastelands, dogs, and of course spending time with Pat.
Lucas King PASTOR
Lucas felt called to full time ministry as a teenager. He followed that calling into local and national missions and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Religious Studies from Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS. Soon after graduating from college, Lucas found himself in a growing career in corporate America while serving as a lay volunteer and leader in college and student ministry programs as well as leading international missions trips. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management and a Master's of Science in Organizational Development. Lucas and his wife, Jess, have six wonderful children. Lucas loves fishing, camping, live music, movies and time with Jess and their kids.
Jeremy Weeks PASTOR
Jeremy and his wife, Sara moved back to Indianola in 2012, after joining New Heights Jeremy became involved in leading connection groups, greeting, teaching children, helping at Student Ministries and being an Elder. Working with secondary and college ministry is his passion. "This was the culmination of the desires of my heart from my experiences growing up in those ministries as a student myself, and THE place I wanted to be fully invested in at New Heights." Jeremy comes out of a wealth management background but has desired to be in ministry since college. He looks forward to building relationships, challenging and encouraging the students that call New Heights and Light Company Home.
Mike Emehiser WORSHIP ARTS DIRECTOR
"Music has always been a part of my life, but I would not know how much it would change me until I began my journey with Jesus in 1979." Since then, Mike has gone from a hymn leader, through the beginning of the contemporary music worship movement in the 80's to present day. "I enjoy all kinds of music (okay ... rap is a stretch for me)" but he believes God is not hindered by styles as He uses music to touch people's lives. Mike's prayerful desire is for us all to bless the heart of our
Heavenly Father as we lift our voices, gifts, hearts ... our lives to Him in worship.
Jess King ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Jess is a graduate of Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS, where she grew up. She and her husband Lucas, have called Iowa and Indianola their home for 14 years and feel blessed to raise their family here. Over the last 20 years, Jess has been full-time mom of six, a home educator, and a teacher in early childhood development. The past few years she has worked as the assistant director at Indianola Preschool. Jess and Lucas have been a part of New Heights since the early prayer meetings; she's served in various volunteer capacities through the years. She is so excited to be a part of the day-to-day ministry at New Heights Church and dedicating her time towards serving her church and its pastors. When Jess is not working she loves creating and decorating, spending time with her friends and family, and taking naps.
